Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment 2023/2024:Requirements

 The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) is a government agency responsible for migration management and border security in the country. It was established by the Nigerian parliament in August 1963 when  Alhaji Shehu Shagari was the minister of internal Affairs.

  • The issue of travel documents such as Nigerian passports which identify you as a Nigerian outside the country or abroad.
  • They are in charge of persons leaving and entering Nigeria.
  • They are in charge of board patrol and surveillance.
  • The Enforce laws and regulations with which they are directly in charge.

On January 16, 2023, the Nigeria Immigration Service opened its portal for the 2023/2024  recruitment exercise for interested applicants across the country. To enable suitable and qualified applicants for full-time employment to fill vacancies in these positions.


All applications are expected to be completed and submitted within 2 weeks that the application starts that is Monday 16, January 2024 to Sunday 29, January 2023.


Vacancies available:


1. Category A: Superintendent Cadre:


 (a). Superintendent of Immigration (SI) compass 11.


(Applicants must possess a first degree in MBBS from a recognized institution of higher learning and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate).


(b). Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) CONPASS 10.

 

(Applicants must possess a first degree in pharmacy from a recognized institution and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.)


(c). Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI) CONPASS 08.


(Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree, a higher national diploma (HND), or an equivalent from a recognized institution)

.

2. Category B: Inspectorate Cadre:


(a) Assistant Inspector of Immigration (All) General Duty CONPASS 06.


(Applicants must hold a recognized National Diploma (ND), National Certificate of Education (NCE), or Advance NABTEB).


3. Category C: Assistant Cadre:


(a). Immigration Assistant iii (IA I11) CONPASS 03 General Duty.


(Applicants must hold a GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or its equivalent with a minimum of 4 credits in not more than two (2) sittings, including English and mathematics).


(b). Immigration Assistant III (IA III CONPASS 03 Artisans.

(Applicants must have SSCE or its equivalent and a trade test certificate).


Statutory requirements for recruitment:


  •  Applicants must be Nigerians by birth.
  •  Have a National Identity card.
  • Applicants must have all the educational qualifications and certificates.
  • An applicant must be fit and present certificates of medical fitness from a government-recognized hospital.
  • Applicant Must be of good character and must not be convicted of any crime.
  •  Be required to pass drug tests.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30, except doctors and pharmacists, who must be no older than 35.
  • Applicant's height must not be less than 1.65 for females and 0.87 for men.
  • The applicant must possess a recent passport.
Shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email or SMS and a CBT test will be carried on to the next level.
