On October 20th, 2022, the central bank of Nigeria under the rule of Governor Godwin Emefele planned to redesign Nigerian currency specifically the 200 Naira note, 500 Naira note, and 1000 Naira note, through the approval of Nigerian president Muhammad Buhari, in line with what the provision of section 2 (b) section 18 (a) and section 19 subsection (a) and (b) of the central bank of Nigeria act 200.
This new currency will start in circulation in the middle of December 2022 together with the old currency, the CBN encourages the Submission of the old Nigerian notes that is the 200-, 500-, and 1000-Naira notes.
The cash at hand which is in circulation will affect everybody.
According to the CBN Governor, this decision was reached due to persisting concerns about the recent series of banknotes in circulation. especially those people who are outside the banking system, and currency management has a series of challenges, the former currency will cease its circulation in January 2023

The new 1000-Naira notes have a light blue touch like the former note which has a touch of gold color aside from this all-other feature remains the same.

The new Nigerian 500 Naira note has a multi-color underprint and blue color like the former one which has a touch of brown, dark blue, and olive, apart from a few features other things are the same.
The Imagin and Feature Of 200 New Nigeria Notes.
The new Nigeria 200 Naira note has a reddish mauve and multi-color under print unlike the former which has dark blue, the image is still the same, and other features,
Avoid keeping the old Nigerian currency at home to avoid being stuck in your hand.
